whenever i hear the song “low rider,” i’m shot back to 2008 where i realize i’m up way past my bedtime, watching the opening theme to the george lopez show play. is there something else to watch on a different channel? who knows. the family certainly doesn’t—they just keep jumping and smiling. a few minutes later, there’s a flashback scene to where the adult characters are children, with the actors’ heads superimposed on children’s bodies. my heavy eyes don’t question why. they just slowly close, and i drift off.
