no but the academy literally used chadwick‘s nomination as clout, moved the best actor category to the end and invited his family so the audience can think its to honor his craft and legend but instead, they gave the award to a white man. they used chadwick as a marketing strategy and are still profiting off of his death. disgusting.
its also quite ironic that nomadland, a film about homelessness won when actual homeless people were being brushed aside and relocated from Union Station (in LA) so they could host the oscars this year. like just imagine the wealthiest people clapping and cheering for this win while ignoring the reality that sits right outside. it’s cruel and it’s gross.
